주한이란상공회의소는 대한민국 정부의 '상공회의소 설립에 관한 특별법'에 의거하여 산업통상자원부 장관의 승인을 받고,
이란 정부 주한이란대사관 대한상공회의소의 지원과 협조하에 설치된 정식 주한외국상공회의소 입니다.
주한이란상공회의소 개설을 승인하고 양국의 교역증진을 위한 지원을 아끼지 않는 대한민국 정부에 감사드립니다.
양국 간 경제협력과 교역의 최전선에서 오늘도 부단히 노력하시는 많은 기관에도 심심한 사의를 표합니다.
이란은 한반도의 6.5 배의 광활한 국토와 8천만의 인구 중 높은 교육 수준을 가진 20~30 대의 인구가 40% 이며, 세계 최고 품질의 석유 및 천연가스 등의 천문학적인 에너지 자원과 지하 자원을 보유한 국가로서, 한국인에 대해서 특별한 친밀감을 보이는 이란 국민들이 살고 있는 보석 같은 나라 입니다.
이란의 핵무기 보유를 막고 중동지역 내의 영향력의 확대를 우려하는 미국 등의 적극적인 경제제재로 이란이 어려움을 겪고 있음은 주지의 사실입니다.
이와 같은 거친 국제정치 환경 하에서도 한국과 이란 간의 연간 교역량은 5조원에 달하고 있습니다.
이란은 대한민국에 대해서 어떠한 차별 없이 우호적이고 공정한 경제 동맹국가로서 대우하고 있고 모든 문호를 적극적으로 개방하고 있습니다.
역사적으로 정서적으로도 형제국가인 대한민국에 대해서 매우 따뜻한 시각과 우호적인 태도를 갖고 있는 나라임은 분명합니다.
대한민국의 강력한 우방인 미국과의 관계는 더욱 발전시키고 견고히 해야 할 일이나, 미국과 이란 간의 불편한 정치적인 긴장 때문에 한국과 이란의 상호 경제협력에 차질이 발생하거나 주저하는 것은 대한민국의 국익과 미래를 포기하는 것 입니다.
주한이란상공회의소는 양국 교역증진 및 성공적인 사업을 지원하기 위한 최선을 다할 것 입니다.

KICHAM is the only official foreign chamber of commerce in Korea approved by the Korean government among the countries of the Middle East and Africa region. I would like to express my gratitude to the Korean central government for its approval of the establishment of the KICHAM in Korea as well as its eager support of the economic revitalization of both countries. I would also like to thank numerous corporations and institutes who are trying their best to increase cooperation and trade between the two countries.
Iran is a country of vast territory that is 6.5 times larger than the Korean peninsula. 40% of its population of 80 million is comprised of highly intelligent young people in their 20~30s. The country possesses great volumes of astronomical energy resources and underground resources, such as oil and natural gas. Additionally, Iran is a gemlike country that its people have always shown amazing hospitality towards Korea and its people. It is well-known fact that Iran is facing economic difficulties due to active restrictions being placed on them by the United States of America, who wishes to prevent Iran from possessing nuclear weapons and to solidify its extensive influence in the Middle East. Despite such a difficult international political situation, the annual trade volume between Korea and Iran has reached five trillion won. Iran has been extremely friendly to Korea without any discrimination, has treated it as an important economic ally, and has actively opened its doors to Korea.
As it can be seen from the 2000-year-old Persian statue stored in the Korea National Museum represents, the history between Iran and Korea dates back to ancient times. It is irrefutable that Iran, even to this day, has been maintaining a genial and friendly attitude towards Korea, its brother nation-state intimately connected both historically and culturally.
Korea surely needs to develop and strengthen its relationship with the USA as an important ally of the nation, but if there is any disruption in the mutual economic cooperation between Korea and Iran due to political tensions between the Iran and the USA, it would mean that Korea has to give up its own future and national interests. The KICHAM will do its best to support the promotion of exchange and successful business between the two honorable countries.
